Kids for Riley
Kiwanis in Direct Support (KIDS) for
Riley
KIDS for Riley is an exciting
program at Indiana's premier children's hospital. This program is
coordinated by Kiwanians to meet the needs of various hospital
departments and families at Riley Hospital. Become a Kiwanian in
Direct Support.
- Reach Out Indiana! is to assist families whose children are
being treated the hospital. Kiwanians volunteer time to help
with transportation, meals, lodging, or tasks at home whil they are
caring for a sick child.
- Kiwanis-EMSC Pediatric Project - children are not just
small adults, they come in all shapes and sizes! The pediatric
bag is designed to give emergency responders an organized toolbox for
the care of ill and injured children. Kiwanians support the
project by contributing to education, equipment, and needed training
facilities in their communities.
- The Kiwanis Bike Safety Program engages Kiwanians in bike
rodeos, helmet giveaways, and community safety programs targeted at
young children. Clubs partner with other organizations to get
the job done!
- Pedal Power is an adapted bike program for children with
disabilities. Please visit
http://www.rileyhospital.org/document.jsp?locid=3441 for
more information.
- Welcome Desk Volunteer Program - Babies need lots of
attention and special care, their families do too. Kiwanians
staff the welcome desk at the Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at
Riley Hospital. Trained volunteers staff the desk and help
parents find answers to every day questions.
- Banner Patch is now available -
the KIDS for Riley Banner Patch is available to clubs who perform
service for Riley families (outside of raising money for the annual
District Project for Riley Hospital). More information, a list
of opportunities, and a banner patch application contact Denny Yoder
at
